Managed by Joe Gianelli, but owned by gambling operator, Babe Arata. It was a licensed card room, but was raided in 1948 because of a change in gambling ordinances. Babe Arata was also the co-owner of the Golden Gate Inn in Stockton, and the Tahoe Village in Nevada.

T. R. King sold 1050 of these large crown chips to Babe Arata, Pelican Club, 126 East Market Street, Stockton, California, in 1948 and 1949.
