The United States Playing Card Company (Cincinnati, OH) shipped the diecut inlaid "FOX" chips in six colors to C. [Charles] A. Fox, Taft, California, on 10/16/1914.
T. R. King sold 1000 of these large crown chips in four denominations to M. M. Knoles at the Fox Hotel, Taft, CA in 1945. A Mr. M. N. Knoles was granted a business license to operate gaming tables at the Fox Hotel on 10/13/1946. (see Archive) An additional shipment of 2000 of these chips in five denominations was made to L. W. Giboney, Brass Rail Bar, 412 1/2 Center Street, Taft, CA, in 1964. (There are slight differences in chip colors/denomination style between the 1945 and 1964 chips.) |
